This shawl is worked in two halves and then grafted together at the end. It is worked in garter stitch throughout and features a pretty lace border. It is easy to substitute the yarn. The sample is knitted in 4ply/fingering weight yarn but any yarn weight can be used. Adjust the needle size to suit your yarn and knit the first half until you've used up half your yarn, then repeat for the second half.
Shelterbox is a charity based in Cornwall, UK, which responds instantly to natural and man-made disasters worldwide by delivering boxes of aid to those who are most in need. Each box supplies an extended family of up to 10 people with a tent and essential equipment to use while they are displaced or homeless.
