Lace Improvers - The Wool Merchant, Dartington, Devon
This workhsop will teach you the techniques you need to know to knit more complicated lace such as lace shawls with an applied/knitted on edging.
You will learn and practice how to work from more difficult charts, work the varoius stitches and decreases needed for lace, add beads using a crochet hook, work an applied border, provisional cast on and suitable cast offs.
Following this workshop you should be confident enough to tackle a more complicated lace shawl with an applied edging.
In the morning we'll practice the various techniques needed to knit an intermediate lace shawl with an applied edging and in the afternoon you will be able to start working on a shawl. You will be given a choice of patterns. All patterns will require 800m/100gr lace yarn and 3.5mm circular needles (80cm).
All materials for the morning will be provided. Please bring materials as above for the afternoon project (this can be purchased on the day if preferred).
Time: 10am to 4pm.
